striyaś ca saḿvīkṣya mitho 'ti-sauhṛda-

smitāmalāpāńga-dṛśo 'bhirebhire

stanaiḥ stanān kuńkuma-pańka-rūṣitān

nihatya dorbhiḥ praṇayāśru-locanāḥ

SYNONYMS

striyaḥ — the women; ca — and; saḿvīkṣya — seeing; mithaḥ — one another; ati — extreme; sauhṛda — with friendly affection; smita — smiling; amalapure; apāńga — exhibiting glances; dṛśaḥ — whose eyes; abhirebhire — they embraced; stanaiḥ — with breasts; stanān — breasts; kuńkuma — of saffron; pańka — with paste; rūṣitān — smeared; nihatya — pressing; dorbhiḥ — with their arms; praṇaya — of love; aśru — tears; locanāḥin whose eyes.

TRANSLATION

The women glanced at one another with pure smiles of loving friendship. And when they embraced, their breasts, smeared with saffron paste, pressed against one another as their eyes filled with tears of affection.
