sańgītavad rodanavad
unnamayya śirodharām
vyamuñcan vividhā vāco
grāma-siḿhās tatas tataḥ
SYNONYMS
sańgīta-vat — like singing; rodana-vat — like wailing; unnamayya — raising; śirodharām — the neck; vyamuñcan — uttered; vividhāḥ — various; vācaḥ — cries; grāma-siḿhāḥ — the dogs; tataḥ tataḥ — here and there.
TRANSLATION
Raising their necks, dogs cried here and there, now in the manner of singing and now of wailing.
